AUGUSTO VICTA ( Veteran Radio Talent/Director and TV/ Movie Actor)

  1. I am very happy to see this article in the internet. We are preparing for my Uncle August 78 birthday this August 15 (actually his birthday is really August 14 but we are doing it on the 15th because it is Saturday and everyone of his family will be able to come). He is currently in Australia visiting his 4 daughters.

Thanks very much for this article. I will show this to my cousins and we will show & read this as part of the program during his birthday party.

    Thanks,
    Cynthia

  2. Hello Cynthia and Ganie, I am looking for Tata Ogot, as we fondly called him in the 1970s. My father's youngest sister Caridad Pavico AKA Caring and Tata Ogot used to work together at DZRH for many, many years. How can I get ahold of Tata Ogot. I live in Washington, DC but I am presently in the Philippines visiting family and friends. I can be reached at pavico2004@yahoo.com.
    Thank you for your time,
    Eileen

Hi. Tita Caring is my Ninang. I remember being spoiled rotten by my Ninang as a child and was so sad when she left the Phils.
My Dad, Augusto Victa is In Sydney right now. It would be great if my Ninang and Dad would be able to catch up while he's here.
I'll flick you an email using my privateemail addy.

    2. How is Lazaro (Augusto Victa) now? Yes...he is the original Lazaro of Anna Liza the husband of Isabel (Alicia Alonzo). I was still young when I was watching the soap. ABS-CBN is now airing "Anna Liza" of the new generation. I still remember the names of the characters of the original soap opera.

I'm Kara Bangot, a Broadcast Communication Student from the University of the Philippines Diliman. The Broadcast Department has a Radio history modular video documentary project. We would like to interview announcers, artists, dramatists, writers who serve as pillars of the Philippine Radio Industry. It would really be an honor if we could interview him. I would like to ask for his contact details so we could send him a formal invitation. You may contact me at karajbangot@yahoo.com Thank You so much!

  3. Hello, Pavico:
In the 1970s I was writing for 7 weekly TV dramas for Channel 2 and Augusto was constantly guesting in them. I also wrote one episode where we guested his son Val, opposite Frieda "Body Language" Fonda. When I was a child, I became familiar with Augusto Victa's voice from radio dramas and also your aunt, Caridad Pavico. Her laughter in Mila Rosa was incredible :). She replaced Rosie Concepcion in that drama when Rosie left for the US. Caridad also made a few movies in Sampaguita Pictures, did she not?

Is Caridad living in the Philippines? Rosie Concepcion must have stayed in the US for good. It's amazing how the movies and TV snatched a lot of drama talents from radio. I was listening to them as a child, then when I became a drama writer, I've ended up meeting them on TV and movies. Estrella Kuentzler, Laura Hermosa, Ester Chavez, Roldan Aquino, Isabel Martin, Veronica Palileo, and even my director was from radio: Mario O'hara who passed away recently.

It's so much fun reminiscing the good old days :)
